NASA to MARS NASA was interviewing professionals to be sent to Mars. Only one could go, and he will not return to Earth. The first applicant, an American engineer, was asked how much he wanted to be paid for going. ‘A million dollars,’ he answered, ‘because I wish to donate it to M.I.T.’ The next applicant, a Russian doctor, was asked the same question. He asked for two million dollars. ‘I wish to give a million to my family,’ he explained, ‘and leave the other million for advancement of medical research.’ The last applicant was an Indian politician. When asked how much money he wanted, he whispered in the interviewer’s ear, ‘Three million dollars.’ ‘Why so much more than the others the interviewer asked. The politician replied, ‘One million is for you, I’ll keep one million, and we will send the American engineer to Mars.’

One day an Irishman goes into a pharmacy shop, reaches into his pocket and takes out a small bottle and a teaspoon. He pours some liquid onto the teaspoon and offers it to the chemist. "Could you taste this for me, please?" The chemist takes the teaspoon, puts it in his mouth, swills the liquid around and swallows it. It tasted unpleasant. "Does that taste sweet to you?" says Paddy."No, not at all," says the chemist, pulling a face. "Oh that's a relief," says Paddy. "The doctor told me to come here and get my urine tested for sugar."
