An unemployed B.TECH graduate was looking out for a suitable job in his stream. He attended several exams and many personal interviews, only to be rejected. . . . . Being fed up after so many months of his job hunt, he decided to get into any job that can satisfy his food and daily needs. . . . . . He visited a circus group and asked for a job. But the owner said that there wasn't any job for his education level. Also he said that there is a vacancy to act as a monkey and perform funny actions. The unemployed youth accepted the offer since he can at least afford his daily food. . . . . . So he dressed up as a monkey and entertained the audience. One day while he was performing the monkey skills, he accidentally fell into the lion's ring. . . . . Everyone was shocked as the monkey fell into lion's ring. No one knew that he was a man dressed up as a monkey. The man himself was dreadful and feared for his life. He felt pity for himself as he going to be a victim of unemployment. . . . . . . . . . திருவள்ளுவர் எழுதிய ஒரே நான்கு வரிபாடல்! உலகத்திலுள்ள அத்தனை ஜீவன்களுக்காகவும் ஒன்றரை அடியில் குறள் எழுதிய திருவள்ளுவர், ஒரே ஒரு ஜீவனுக்காக மட்டும் நான்கடியில் ஒரு பாட்டு எழுதியுள்ளார் தெரியுமா! யார் அந்த பெருமைக்குரிய ஜீவன்? அந்த பெருமைக்குரியவர், அவரது மனைவி வாசுகி தான்.அந்த அம்மையார் தனது கணவரின் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்து வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் விமர்சித்ததே இல்லை. அவர் செய்தால் எல்லாம் சரியாகத்தான் இருக்கும் என்று நினைத்தவர். தன் கணவர் சாப்பிடும் போது, ஒரு கொட்டாங்குச்சியில் தண்ணீரும், ஒரு ஊசியும் வைத்துக் கொண்டுதான் சாப்பிடுவாராம். அது ஏன்னு அம்மையாருக்கு விளங்கவே இல்லியாம். ஆனாலும், கணவரிடம் காரணத்தை எப்படி கெட்பதுன்னு அமைதியா இருப்பாராம். இதற்கான காரணத்தை அந்த அம்மையார் இறக்கும் தருவாயில் தான் கணவரிடம் கேட்டாராம். சோற்றுப்பருக்கை கீழே சிந்தினால் ஊசியில் குத்தி கொட்டாங்குச்சியில் உள்ள நீரில் கழுவி மீண்டும் சோற்றில் கலந்து உண்ணவே அவை இரண்டும் என்றாராம். நீ பரிமாறுகையில் சோற்று பருக்கை சிந்தவே இல்லை. அதனால் அதன் பயன்பாடு உனக்கு தெரியவில்லை என்றுநெகிழ்ச்சி யாக சொன்னாராம். வள்ளுவரின் இல்லத்துக்கு துறவி ஒருவர் வந்தார். அவர்கள், இருவரும் பழைய சாதம் சாப்பிட்டனர். அப்போது வள்ளுவர் வாசுகியிடம், சோறு சூடாக இருக்கிறது. விசிறு, என்றார். பழைய சோறு எப்படி சுடும்?அந்த அம்மையார் கேள்வியே கேட்கவில்லை. விசிற ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார். இப்படி, கணவருடன் வாதம் செய்யாமல் விட்டுக்கொடுக்கும் மனப்பக்குவம் கொண்டிருந்தார். அந்த கற்புக்கரசி ஒருமுறை கிணற்றில் தண்ணீர் இறைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். வள்ளுவர் அவரை அழைக்கவே, கயிறை அப்படியே விட்டு விட்டு வந்தார். குடத்துடன் கூடிய அந்தக் கயிறு அப்படியே நின்றதாம்.இப்பட ி ஒரு மனைவி கிடைத்தால், அந்தக் கணவன் கொடுத்து வைத்தவன் தானே! அந்த அன்பு மனைவி ஒருநாள் இறந்து போனார். “நெருநல் உளனொருவன் இன்றில்லை எனும் பெருமை படைத்து இவ்வுலகு” என்று ஊருக்கே புத்தி சொன்ன அந்தத் தெய்வப்புலவரே, மனைவியின் பிரிவைத் தாங்காமல் கலங்கி விட்டார். நேற்றிருந்தவர் இன்றைக்கு இல்லை என்பது தான் இந்த உலகத்திற்கே பெருமை என்பது இந்தக் குறளின் பொருள். ஆக, தனது கருத்துப்படி, அந்த அம்மையாரின் மறைவுக்காக பெருமைப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டிய அவர், மனைவியின் பிரிவைத் தாளாமல், அடியிற்கினியாளே அன்புடையாளே படிசொல் தவறாத பாவாய்- அடிவருடி பின்தூங்கி முன்னெழும்பும் பேதாய்- இனிதா(அ)ய் என் தூங்கும் என்கண் இரவு என்று ஒரு நாலு வரி பாட்டெழுதினார். அடியவனுக்கு இனியவளே! அன்புடையவளே! என் சொல்படி நடக்கத் தவறாத பெண்ணே! என் பாதங்களை வருடி தூங்கச் செய்தவளே! பின் தூங்கி முன் எழுபவளே! பேதையே! என் கண்கள் இனி எப்படித்தான் இரவில் தூங்கப் போகிறதோ! என்பது பாட்டின் உருக்கமான பொருள். இன்று, சிறுசிறு கருத்து வேறுபாடுகளுக்கு கூட,நீதிமன்ற வாசலில் நிற்கும் தம்பதியர், இந்தசம்பவத்தை மனதிற்குள் அசைபோடுவார்களா!

ஒரு டீச்சர் தன் வகுப்பு மாணவர்களிடம் வெற்றுத் தாள்களைக் கொடுத்து, ஒவ்வொருவரையும், வகுப்பில் உள்ள மற்ற மாணவர்கள் அனைவரின் பெயரையும் அதில் எழுதச் சொன்னார். ஒரு பெயருக்கும், அடுத்த பெயருக்கும் இடையே சிறிது இடைவெளியுடன் ! மாணவர்கள் எழுதி முடித்தவுடன், டீச்சர் சொல்கிறார் - “ஒவ்வொரு பெயருக்கும் எதிரே, அவர்களிடம் நீங்கள் காணும் – உங்களுக்கு பிடித்த நல்ல விஷயம் ஒன்றைப்பற்றி எழுதுங்கள்.” மாணவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், யோசித்து, தங்களுக்கு தோன்றியதை எல்லாம் எழுதிக் கொடுத்தனர். வாரக்கடைசி – டீச்சர் ஒவ்வொரு மாணவனின் பெயரிலும் ஒரு தாள் தயார் செய்து, அதில் மற்ற மாணவர்கள் அவனைப்பற்றி எழுதியிருந்த உயர்வான வார்த்தைகளை வரிசையாகத் தொகுத்து எழுதி கீழே தன் கையெழுத்தையும் போட்டு, மாணவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவராக அழைத்து அவர்களின் பெயரிட்ட தாளைக் கொடுத்தார். மாணவர்கள் அவரவர் இடத்திற்கு சென்று அமர்ந்து படிக்கிறார்கள். 10 நிமிடங்கள் – வகுப்பறையே சந்தோஷக்கடலில் மிதக்கிறது. “நான் இவ்வளவு சிறப்பானவனா..? என்னைப் பற்றி மற்றவர்கள் இவ்வளவு நல்ல அபிப்பிராயம் வைத்திருக்கிறார்களா ?” – அத்தனை மாணவர்களும் ஆனந்தத்தில் திளைக்கிறார்கள் ! அந்த பட்டியலில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள குணாதிசயங்களை மேலும் மேலும் வளர்த்துக் கொள்ள முயற்சி செய்கிறார்கள். தன்னைப்பற்றி உயர்வாகச் சொன்னதற்காக, ஒவ்வொரு மாணவனுக்கும்,சக மாணவர்கள் மேல் அன்பு அதிகரிக்கிறது. பல வருடங்கள் கழிகின்றன. அந்த வகுப்பில் படித்த மாணவன் ஒருவன் வளர்ந்த பிறகு ராணுவத்தில் சேர்கிறான். பிறகு போர் ஒன்றில் வீர சாகசம் புரிந்து, மரணம் அடைகிறான். அவன் உடல் ராணுவ மரியாதையுடன் சொந்த ஊர் கொண்டு வரப்படுகிறது. இறுதிச் சடங்கில், கலந்து கொள்ள அந்த டீச்சரும் செல்கிறார். மிடுக்கான ராணுவ உடையில் - நாட்டின் தேசியக்கொடி போர்த்தப்பட்டு, சவப்பெட்டியிலும் கம்பீரத்துடன் காணப்பட்ட அந்த மாணவனைக் கண்டு பெருமிதத்துடன் கண் கலங்குகிறார். ஒவ்வொருவராக வரிசையில் வந்து இறுதி மரியாதை செலுத்துகின்றனர். டீச்சர் கடைசியாகச் செல்கிறார். பின்னர், பக்கத்திலேயே நிற்கிறார். உடலைத் தாங்கி வந்த, ராணுவ சக வீரர்கள் அருகிலேயே நின்றிருந்தனர். ஒரு வீரர் கேட்கிறார் -”நீங்கள் சரவணனின் 10ஆம் வகுப்பு டீச்சரா ?” என்று. டீச்சர் ஆம் என்று தலையசைக்கிறார். பின்னர் அந்த ராணுவ வீரன் சொல்கிறான் “டீச்சர் - எனக்கு உங்களைத் தெரியும். சரவணன் உங்களைப்பற்றி எப்போதும் சொல்லிக்கொண்டே இருப்பான்” சடங்குகள் முடிந்த பின்னர், சரவணனின் பழைய வகுப்புத் தோழர்கள் அங்கு டீச்சருடன் ஒன்றாக நின்றிருந்தனர். அங்கு சரவணனின் தாயும் தந்தையும் வருகின்றனர். அந்த சோகத்திலும் தந்தை டீச்சரிடம் கூறுகிறார் - “டீச்சர் நான் உங்களுக்கு ஒன்றைக் காட்ட வேண்டும். இது சரவணன் போரில் கொல்லப்பட்டபோது, அவனது பாக்கெட்டிலிருந்து இறுதியாக கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டது”. அவர் காட்டியது, பெரிய பர்ஸ் ஒன்றில் பத்திரமாக - பல முறை மடிக்கப்பட்டு, மடிப்புகள் எல்லாம் டேப் போட்டு ஒட்டப்பட்டு பத்திரமாக பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு தாள். ஆமாம் – பல வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர் அந்த டீச்சர் சரவணனைப் பற்றிய நல்ல குணங்களை வரிசைப்படுத்தி தொகுத்து எழுதிக் கொடுத்திருந்த அதே காகிதம் தான் ! கண்ணீர்ப் பெருக்குடன் சரவணனின் தாய் கூறுகிறார் - “ரொம்ப நன்றி டீச்சர் – உங்கள் கடிதத்தை அவன் உயிரையும்விட மேலாக விரும்பினான். இத்தனை வருடங்களும் அதை அவ்வளவு பத்திரமாக பாதுகாத்து வந்தான். அவனுக்கு வாழ்க்கையில் மிகுந்த தன்னம்பிக்கையும், பிடிப்பும் ஏற்பட இந்த காகிதம் தான் உதவியது.” டீச்சரும் மற்ற மாணவர்களும் சரவணனை நினைத்து கதறி அழுகின்றனர்.., ஆம்,என் இனிய நண்பர்களே., இந்த வாழ்க்கைப் பாதை கரடு முரடானது. எங்கே துவங்கும் – எப்படி இருக்கும் -எப்போது, எப்படி முடியும் ? யாருக்கும் தெரியாது. இருக்கின்ற காலத்தில் – நம்முடன் இருப்பவர்களை அவர்களின் நல்ல இயல்புகளுக்காக நேசிப்போம். நல்லதும் கெட்டதும் கலந்தது தான் மனித குணம். ஒருவர் விரும்பத்தகாத குணத்தைக் கொண்டிருந்தால், நாம் அதை விரும்பவில்லை என்பதை எரிச்சல் காரணமாக, அநேகமாக உடனேயே வெளிப்படுத்தி விடுகிறோம். ஆனால், ஒருவரிடம் உள்ள நற்பண்புகளை, குணங்களை - அநேகமாக – நாம் வெளிப்படையாக பாராட்டத் தவறி விடுகிறோம். கூடாது என்றல்ல. அதன் அவசியம் நமக்குத் தெரிவதில்லை. சாம்பாரில் சற்று உப்பு அதிகமாக இருந்தால் கூட உடனடியாக மனைவியிடம் அதைக்கூறும் கணவர்கள், அந்த சமையல் நன்றாக இருக்கும்போது – பாராட்டுவது இல்லை ! பாராட்ட வேண்டும் என்று தோன்றுவதில்லை ! இந்த உலகில் அனைத்து உயிர்களுமே, பாராட்டுதலை எதிர்பார்க்கிறது. கிடைத்தால் சந்தோஷப்படுகிறது ! நீங்களோ, நானோ - யாருமே அதற்கு விதிவிலக்கல்ல. வெளிப்படையான பாராட்டுதல் - அவர்களிடையே தன்னம்பிக்கையை கொடுக்கும். நல்ல குணங்கள் மேலும் மேம்பட உதவும். தோழமை உணர்வு அதிகப்பட உதவும். மனிதர்களை மேலும் நல்லவர்களாக மாற்றும்.

K. Sudhakaran has a small juice shop where he also sells cold drinks, sweets and lottery tickets in northern Kerala’s Kanhangad town. He barely earns Rs 10,000 every month working hard in his small shop. One morning, P. Ashokan, a regular customer of his, called him up and asked him to set aside ten lottery tickets for him. Later that day, When the results were announced, Mr. Sudhakaran came to know that one of those ten tickets had won the first prize a whopping Rs 1 crore. The 44-year-old vendor was swift to inform his long-term customer of the fortune he won. Ashokan could hardly believe his ears when he learnt what had happened! He had not paid for the tickets. Nor had Sudhakaran told him the ticket numbers. And so, Sudhakaran didn't have to tell him that one of the tickets that he had set aside for him had won the bumper prize. He could easily have pocketed the money had he wanted to—that wouldn't have been considered illegal. But Mr. Sudhakaran chose to convey the pleasant news to his customer. “My father always told me that if you need to, you can even beg, but you must never snatch other people’s rights. My Parents taught me to be honest, to do what is right, to consider everyone, rich and poor, as equal. My mother and all my other relatives were all very happy with what I had done. They all said that I had done the right thing.” Sudhakaran Said. A couple of months ago, Sudhakaran was back in the news and for a similar reason. He had found a gold chain while travelling in a train and handed it to the police, who managed to trace its owner! Sudhakaran with this act of righteousness has restored our faith in humanity.

An Engineer or A Doctor? An Engineer was unemployed for long time. He could not find a job so he opened a medical clinic and puts a sign up outside: "Get your treatment for $500, if not treated get back $1,000." One Doctor thinks this is a good opportunity to earn $1,000 and goes to his clinic. Doctor: "I have lost taste in my mouth." Engineer: "Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in the patient's mouth." Doctor: "This is Gasoline!" Engineer: "Congratulations! You've got your taste back. That will be $500." The Doctor gets annoyed and goes back after a couple of days later to recover his money. Doctor: "I have lost my memory, I cannot remember anything." Engineer: "Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in the patient's mouth." Doctor: "But that is Gasoline!" Engineer: "Congratulations! You've got your memory back. That will be $500." The Doctor leaves angrily and comes back after several more days. Doctor: "My eyesight has become weak." Engineer: "Well, I don't have any medicine for this. Take this $1,000." Doctor: "But this is $500..." Engineer: "Congratulations! You got your vision back! That will be $500."
